The history of Nash/ Whiteside Family.

Our story

It all began with the birth of Minnie Ballard on September 7th, 1923, in Huntsville, Alabama. At the age of 14 Minnie Ballard relocated her life to Chatanooga, Tennessee where she met her first spouse William Nash. With her then spouse William Nash, she created the first round of descendants of the Nash clan; Larry Nash, Fred Nash, Gloria Nash Ware, Stanley “Butchie” Nash and Aubrey “Bo” Nash. After her time with William Nash and having her first five children Minnie relocated to Alturas, California where she later met her late husband, Frank Whiteside. She and Frank then produced her last 5 children: Karon Whiteside, Frances Whiteside Basped, Felicia Whiteside, Edys Whiteside and Vernon Whiteside. Minnie and her late husband Frank Whiteside relocated to Sacramento, Ca where she decided to plant roots and established community with her family and host of grand children and great - great grandchildren. Minnie Whiteside left this earth March 2016 leaving behind a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren.

Time to Come Together

As the years went by the Nash and Whiteside family tried to keep their bond strong and the family as one. However, as the second and third generations came the time between both parties has been lost. Now in the year 2024 its time for us to all come together again as one and celebrate the growth as a family and with our individual families to commemorate the time and generations brought together through our matriarch Minnie Ballard.

“Family gives you the roots to stand tall and strong.”
